When I first started out online, knowing where to find people to join our group was a complete mystery to me.
That was 8 years ago, back then there wasn’t the information, courses, podcasts around that are freely available now.
So I set to work testing, trialing, failing, and experimenting just how to attract our ideal customers and clients to our group.
Over the years, we have perfected this, and now, I’d love to share my 3 top tips on how to fill your groups with your perfect customers & clients.
This may seem like a no brainer, but when we get to work with clients, so many of them have no clue who they actually want to attract.
Who do they want to work with?… who will benefit most from their products or services?
If YOU don’t know this, how are you going to set out to attract them?
So your very first job is to understand who it is you want in your group.
You may be thinking at this point ‘But I want everyone, all ages, men, women, EVERYONE can benefit from my product or service.
This may be true, but there’s an old cliche saying that gets thrown about, but it’s 100% true…
‘If you market to everyone, you market to no-one’
If you are not attracting your ideal customers & clients with your content being designed FOR THEM, then you will always struggle to build your tribe.
So, get crystal clear on this.
Hint… our typical customer/client is someone very much like us 😉
There are almost 3 billion people hanging out on Facebook.
There will be a percentage of people who are your ideal customers & clients… where will they be hanging out?
In Facebook groups!
People love to be part of a tribe, a community, and there’s a lot of fantastic groups out there that have your audience already gathered in there!.
Now I would never ever suggest you ‘Poach’ someone else’s group members.
This is totally not cool, and will land you with a ban if you do this.
All you need to do is show up in these groups & join in the conversations that are ALREADY happening.
Show up & share your point of view, your ideas, your value, your own spin on the thread.
When people see your name popping up in these groups sharing your ‘Zone of genius’ they are going to come & check you out for sure!
As long as you have your Personal Profile ‘Set up for success’ you will be driving these people, on autopilot’ straight into your group!
Networking in groups is a VERY powerful strategy, use it to serve, not sell.
Unless permitted by admins, or on a selling thread, don’t go into other peoples groups as, what we like to call, ‘Link Slingers’
You know the type, as soon as they see a whiff of money, they sling their links at any post, with the sole intention of making a quick buck!
People are put off massively by this, and we want YOU to stand out, so stay well clear of being a link slinger, unless asked for it, and show up to offer value & help.
Then let your personal profile do the heavy lifting 😉
Just like groups, your ideal customers & clients will have favourite pages that they like & interact with… So be there too!
Again, just to emphasise, never try selling on these threads or stepping on the page owners toes.
You are JUST showing up to help, add your thoughts, encourage, and to network with the people on these threads.
When you show up in the right way, people will come to check your personal profile out.
And, again, as long as you have your profile ‘Set up for success’ you’ll be driving people into your group 24/7 on autopilot.
Still need to get ‘set up? Check out the details HERE.
Pro Tip… Commenting on & sharing posts that already have great interaction will work better. When you comment, everyone who has already interacted with that post will get notified, and your name will pop up in their notifications 😊
Now you have your 3 top tips on how to find your ideal customers & clients, get networking!
(But remember to check your personal profile out FIRST to make sure there’s a way for them to find your group, or it;’s all for nothing.)
I’ve been helping home business owners and online experts organically build their tribe on Facebook for almost a decade now.
With ads becoming more and more unpredictable I believe that marketing your business using organic, trust building methods is more important now that it ever has been… and it’s only going to become more important in the future.
Recently I’ve become a Facebook certified community manager as well as being a Facebook Power admin for the past several years.
